This is the third blog I've started. I deleted my first blog because I felt it was too sloppy and just not me. I probably should have kept it since it showed some of my personal growth during college, but alas I deleted it and it is gone forever from the internet. I recently tried starting a blog on tumblr, but I felt the name was wrong and just gave it up. I've always enjoyed blogger much more. So here I am again world.
The sole purpose of this blog is personal improvement and development. I might talk about what I am cooking, a trick I learned at work, or a recent trip I've taken. I promise to be as honest as possible in this endeavor as I've found that the blogs I keep returning to year after year tend to be the ones that give you a vivid account of someone elses life. Those blogs keep you pining for more and you want to find out as many details as possible. I don't intend to write for a big audience, but who knows where this could lead.
So on to some things I want to accomplish. . .
#1 Improve my posture
#2 Develop more healthy lifestyle with more exercise and such
#3 Climb more mountains (hopefully this year I will get to climb Rainier)
#4 Graduate from College; I have started and stopped and dropped out over the years and I have debt still and I am at a point where I just want to finish already.
#5 Finish all my projects at work so I can feel confident in looking for a new job (I feel like I need to start looking next winter for a new job because my current company is not on the most solid financial ground--they have reserves and may make it longer than I can foresee, but I just want something more secure since I am getting married this year)
#6 Become a better programmer; I am very good at the database world and that is how I got my current job, but to get ahead in this world I really need to improve my Object Oriented Programming skill set. I know I can do this, but sometimes I get stuck with a problem and tend to give up on it.
#7 Become an indepedent expert / have my own consulting type business --this will take a while
#8 Improve my writing; sometimes I have poor style and forget to proof read what I write
#9 Get out of debt/ max out my 401k for the next 30 years / have good cash flow and more than one source of income
